It was one of those places that carried weight long before I ever stood there, built up through stories, images, and the simple knowledge of how much effort it takes just to reach it. When we finally arrived, there was no sense of urgency to make it something more than it was. I wanted to see what the canyon would give us on its own terms. This sunrise was quiet.
